On the 20 months anniversary of launching the
project “ELTiCenter.wordpress.com
Website” (the original version of Vnejournal.com Website), 3 months anniversary of launching the “Vnejournal.com Website Project” and
welcome the New Year 2016, we are happy to announce the “VNEJOURNAL.COM’S CONTEST – WRITE FOR YOUR FAVORED MOMENTS”.
The Vietnamese English Journal Website Project (Vnejournal.com) is originated from the ELTiCenter.wordpress.com Website, an online hub supported by Hawai’i International Education Program (HIEP) with the missions of disseminating updated information about scholarships/ grants and promoting innovative practices in English language learning and teaching throughout Vietnam.
ELTiCenter.wordpress.com Website has been being officially operated since April 2014 at the address: https://elticenter.wordpress.com/ with the slogan “Empower Teachers, Inspire Learning”.
After more than 01 year running the ELTiCenter.wordpress.com Website, the Project team could gain a lot precious experience of conducting an Educational Website Project and we decided to continue developing this project by implementing a new Website named “The Vietnamese English Journal” Vnejournal.com )

“VNEJOURNAL.COM’S CONTEST – WRITE FOR YOUR FAVORED MOMENTS” is
organized in order to create a good environment for English learners to
practice their English writing skill. Simultaneously, we are also looking
forward to seeing your most favorite photos and reading your sincere sharing
about those photos.
I. Contest organizing committee

II. Prize structures
- One prize for the
most interesting caption award: 500000 VND in cash and a certificate of Vnejournal.com.
- One prize for People’s
Choice for the most impressive photo award: 300000 VND in cash and a
certificate of Vnejournal.com.
- One prize for the
luckiest Facebook commenter award: 200000 VND in cash and a certificate of Vnejournal.com.
The total value of prizes: 1000000 VND
The Prizes are awarded directly in cash or transfer
and the certificate is sent by post.
III. Who can participate?
Everyone who loves English at all ages can take part
in this contest.
IV. Time of the contest
Period

Submission: January 01st, 2016 – January 21st, 2016

2:
Public the album of participants’ photos & captions: January 21th
– February 06th, 2016
The
date of the awards (planning): February 08th,
2016
Awardee will be announced and contacted by the Contest
Organizing Committee from February 08th, 2016 to February 15th, 2016 via email
or by phone. If in this time, the awardee do not contact with the Committee,
the prizes will be automatically transferred to the charitable foundation
affiliated with the Hawaii International Education Program.
V. Themes of the photo and the
caption
Each participant submits:

One photo that you like the most
-
One caption to answer the question:
Write something about that photo in English
(20-50 words)
Note:

Your photo must be clear and in high
quality
-
Photos downloaded or copied on the Internet
are invalid.
VI. Regulations of the contest
The photo with a caption written in English must be directly
sent to the email: vnenglishjournal@gmail.com;
or the Message Box of Fan Page: https://www.facebook.com/vnejournal/?fref=ts/.
Time: January 01st, 2015 and January 21st, 2016.
Your email or Facebook Message and attachment should
be titled as the “VNEJOURNAL.COM’S
CONTEST” - Your Full Name”.
Any photo found to be downloaded or copied from the
Internet; and any caption found to be plagiarized will be automatically disqualified.
Contest organizers are not responsible for lost,
late or misdirected mail or any other electronic malfunction.
*Please specify your personal information in your
submission email: Full name, ID Number, Address and Phone Number.
VII.
The process of selecting the three
winners of three prizes will be conducted as follow:
1. The prize for the most interesting
caption
This prize will be remarked and assessed by Contest
Organizing Committee.

Contest judging:
Captions will be judged by using five criteria
including: Word choice, Grammar Usage, Organization, Creative and Message.
2. The prize of People’s Choice for
the most impressive photos
This prize will be selected based on the total direct
votes of Facebook users on the photos updated on the Fanpage of Vnejournal.com
website at the link: https://www.facebook.com/vnejournal/?fref=ts
1 like = 5 points
1 share = 10 points
The participant whose photo has the biggest total
points from the total “Like” & “Share” of Facebook users will win this
prize.
Note: All Facebook users who click “Like”/ “Share”
your most favorite photos updated on the Fanpage https://www.facebook.com/vnejournal/?fref=ts
are required to click like the Fan Page https://www.facebook.com/vnejournal/?fref=ts before or after
clicking “Like”/ “Share” your favorite photo.
3. The prize of the luckiest Facebook
commenter
This prize will be selected randomly by drawing the pieces
of paper including the names of Facebook commenter who completes 3 these steps.
Step 2: Click Like the photo you are interested in
the most in the photo album updated on the Fan Page
Step 3: Comment on your most favorite photos the
information: Your full name, your phone No.; and tag the names of 10 Facebook
users you know in your comment.
Note:
The name and information of each commenter
is presented in a card, and all cards of all commenters will be put in a lucky
box, and the Commissioners of the Contest will draw randomly one card to select
the winner of this prize.
Participants
who send photos and captions cannot get this prize.
The results of the contest will be made public on
the Website and Fan Page of Vnejournal.com Website Project!
